OVERVIEW:
A ‘chuval’ is a storage bag that have been and still are used by nomadic tribes of eastern Persia, Afghanistan and Turkmenistan. These bags are used on the ‘walls’ of temporary tents and yurts and display unique design elements to a given tribe and family. Some of these bags have the knotted style that is usually seen on rugs, while this one has the flatwoven elements that we would normally find on a kilim.

CONDITION:
Excellent, near perfect condition. Little to no signs of wear with the exception of areas of the structural rope being frayed.
