OVERVIEW:
Every hallmark of a cottage-industry Mahal rug lies within this piece. The handle; soft, almost organic in its feel. The use of a more rudimentary design language that is harkening to more refined Persian pieces, yet can’t quite find its footing, and thus becomes more primitive in its presentation. The use of more experimental dyes - sage green and orange backed against a white main border, while the field remains slightly more conservative (despite opting for a plethora of accents), and an amount of wear that mellows the presentation of the entire rug.
CONDITION:
General wear, newer selvedges, one end secured. Sold as-is with exception of small slits which will be repaired on purchase and before delivery for no extra charge.
