Antique Karabagh Rug - 3'5" x 6'9"

$1,125.00

#5930

AGE & ORIGIN:
1st Q. 20th C.
Caucuses

OVERVIEW:
It’s not unusual to see Karabagh rugs from this time period imitating design from other areas of central Asia, although it’s more common to see these rugs imitate specifically Persian designs. To see, not only the use of guls, but those normally seen from within modern-day Uzbekistan is something to behold.

As is typical with rugs from Karabagh this has a nice, if not slightly uneven, chunky pile. While synthetic dyes are present within the rug, this is an interesting case where the general palette is visually complimentary to the starker colors.

CONDITION:
General wear and several old, well-executed repairs
