3’-2” x 3’-11”

AGE & ORIGIN:
19th C.
Caucuses

OVERVIEW:
I’ve taken to calling pieces like this Bordjalou Kazak, folk art. The type that demands a discerning eye for those working outside the bounds of a workshop.
A piece clearly woven by someone doing their own thing and not taking cues from anything in particular outside of the design language of the area. Two primitive main medallions, fantastic animals and wild pinwheels all add to the creative, if not rudimentary, piece of work.
A manageable size for the floor, but at this point in it’s life, it may be best used on the wall.

CONDITION:
Worn, sold as-is
