4’-3”/4’-6” x 5’-3”
AGE & ORIGIN:
c. 1900
Persia
OVERVIEW:
While not the most unusual of the Afshar design, it is still interesting to see the pattern usually reserved for bag-faces repeated across an entire rug. A repeating meandering lattice of navy and coral florals flanked by bell-shaped leaves that almost resemble serpents, all of which spread across an ivory field with shades of terracotta.
CONDITION:
Low pile, rug has been cleaned but still inherits one persistent stain (see photo)
