AGE & ORIGIN:

Caucuses
OVERVIEW:
The primary motif being utilized across both field and border is known as an ‘Ashik’; a barbed medallion that has been popular enough in recent times to find use again, mostly within the fields of contemporary kilims.
Each Ashik encases several different designs, from stepped diamonds to the occasional endless knot derivation. While each of these ashik are one-tone, several of them have been playfully woven to give the barbed tips a polychromatic flare. The harmonious nature of the primary pastel colors give the illusion of one singular field being interrupted only by one turret border and a move from a cream field to a cobalt one.
CONDITION:
Worn with patched areas, peripheral tears, areas of reweave, sold as-is
