OVERVIEW:
While the tent trappings of the Turkoman tribes have become well known to be in the realm of collectors, one should not overlook the decorative aspects of these pieces. Things of this nature have always been ornamental, serving perhaps slight purpose, but the weave was totally a choice of decoration. So whence they came, so they go, as to me something like this can serve as a wall hanging or a table runner returns it to the realm of show.
