OVERVIEW:
It does occasionally happen; finding two rugs that were meant to be together and stayed together for nearly 100 years, as is the case with these two Nichols rugs.
The fun really comes in seeing the minor discrepancies on each piece when compared with the other, since they are obviously twins, yet human error in weaving produces, for example, the pheasants’ crest, the design of both vases, the sizes of fower pedals…we don’t want to spoil everything, but it’s quite charming to look at both of these with this history in mind.
These came to us in a pair, and we refuse to separate them, so they will be sold only as such.
