Antique Bidjar Runner

$300.00

#2412 Bidjar Runner
2’-10” x 9’-5”

AGE & ORIGIN:
1st Q. 20th C.
NW Persia

OVERVIEW
Bidjar rugs have earned the name ‘iron rugs’ for a reason. They are industrious, thick, heavy rugs with dense knotting which allows them to be in constant use, and will, in so many words, ‘outlive all of us’. Case-and-point, this runner has seemingly been through it all, and yet remains solid and in tact. There are fewer rugs that get as much traffic as runners, since they’ll typically be put in high-use areas, so what better use is there for the rugs that can withstand anything? All-over classic Herati field.

CONDITON:
This rug has been cut down on all 4 sides leaving one small border and selvedge-style binding on all 4 sides. Some old areas affected by dry rot and old repairs.
