OVERVIEW:
A very charming Peking accent rug. While much Chinese iconography tends to be used on both these and the Art Deco rugs, this particular one is a bit more broad in its motifs. We see the obvious birds and blue roses (?) on the field, but the borders also hold ribbons, vases and even butterflies. A nice color palette of indigo and grey with some brown accents make for an aesthetically pleasing, small rug.
CONDITION:
Selvedge loss, wear on field, especially where the rug seems to have been folded. One small hole and one small blue stain on field
