NW Persian Kurdish Gallery Rug - 4'3" x 8'3"
#2540 Kurdish Gallery Rug
4’3” x 8’3”
AGE & ORIGIN:
Early 20th C.
Persia
OVERVIEW:
I’ll skip the history and just say that my absolute favorite part of this rug is the star border. Seldom do I see a drawing on a rug that has such a rudimentary feel, almost as if it was drawn by a child (perhaps it was!)
This, the small zoomorphic figures squished beside the main memling guls across the field, and the continuously adjusted crooked guard borders all give a wonderfully crude personality to this Kurdish gallery rug.
CONDITION:
Even wear and end loss
