#2549 Darjezine Sarouk
5’-0” x 6’-7”

AGE & ORIGIN:
c. 1947
Persia

OVERVIEW:
Although clearly borrowing design cues from famous Sarouk rugs, this Darjezines’ single weft and weave betray its true origin. Made for the American export market just two years post World War II as indicated (twice) by the date 1947 at the top of the rug. A favorite of many mid-century Americans who might not have been able to afford the more expensive Sarouk carpets, yet still wanted a genuine Persian rug.
